The palate is complex, with concentrated flavours of spiced plums, blackberries, muskrnand cracked pepper layered with grainy tannins and a lengthy finish.

Grão Vasco Dão Red 2010 is a medium intensity ruby coloured wine, characterised by the primary aromas of the grapes from which it is made, such as plum and black cherry, with some balsamic notes. On the palate it is a wine of great elegance and smoothness, with good fresh acidity, smooth and rounded tannins and a medium intensity palate aroma in which fruit prevails. The result is a remarkably balanced whole, with a clean finish of medium persistence.

Wine with a bright ruby color, young, fresh, harmonious with a delicate scent with hints of cherry and berries.

The fruit for this wine was sourced from the most southerly of the Harewood vineyards. The moderating effect of its maritime climate produces a wine which combines the cool climate limey vibrancy of Porongurup riesling with hints of richer tropical fruits more typical of a slightly warmer climate like Mount Barker.

Grapes are harvested in the coolest part of the night (pre dawn), the free run juice separated from its skins within minutes of picking resulting in a wine with impressive delicacy and subtlety.
