Giant Steps Primavera Pinot Noir
Primavera is an outlier in the Giant Steps Single Vineyard series. This vineyard sits on red clay in the Upper Yarra, a site that excels in warmer vintages. Red soils, undulating hills, the dedicated Lou Primavera tending it daily. This is incredibly floral and seductive - perhaps the softest and most sensual of the Pinot Noirs in the single vineyard range. Stunning drinking now or, if you have the self restraint, for the cellar.

Giant Steps Sexton Chardonnay
Sexton pushes ripe citrus, green apple, nuttiness and a Parisian almond/marzipan character. It’s flinty too, minerals don’t escape, but the main gist is a wine of quiet power, depth, concentration and drive. Exceptional length, the finish is a starburst of flavour, then chalky and puckering. It opens up beautifully, indeed needs some time to reveal more and more, so you get a complex wine with incredible detail going on. Long term fans of the Giant Steps chardonnay world will recognise the pedigree here. It has it all.

Gluehwein
One of the first signs of Winter in Germany are the open air market stalls serving hot spiced wine. Gluehwein is particularly popular at a Weihnachtsmarkt (Christmas market). The markets open in mid-December and sell ornaments, advent calendars, springerle moulds and other Christmas items.
