The colour is a mid straw with youthful green hues. The aroma shows a wonderfully complex blend of lime and lemon with tropical fruit notes, cut straw and melon. Fermentation and maturation in French oak has provided additional notes of cream and toast with hints of cashew and lanolin. The palate is full of fruit and quite opulent without being fat or broad. Well balanced acidity ties it all together and attractive oak provides structure and complexity of flavour. The wine finishes on a refreshing zesty citrus peel note.

Primavera is an outlier in the Giant Steps Single Vineyard series. This vineyard sits on red clay in the Upper Yarra, a site that excels in warmer vintages. Red soils, undulating hills, the dedicated Lou Primavera tending it daily. This is incredibly floral and seductive - perhaps the softest and most sensual of the Pinot Noirs in the single vineyard range. Stunning drinking now or, if you have the self restraint, for the cellar.

The Yarra Valley range is made from handpicked fruit from our estate vineyards. The wines are produced using indigenous yeasts, gravity-flow winemaking, and minimal fining and filtration. This approach produces highly expressive wines, true to the climate, soil and topography of the Yarra Valley.

On the nose with a succulent palate full of tropical flavours and a vibrant acidity balancing the wine nicely. This is a wine for all occasions with the added benefit of being lower in alcohol.
