The term “Fusillo” comes from “fuso” (spindle) which was the tool used by spinners. This pasta is particularly good with vegetable sauces that are prepared with tomato sauce, peppers, eggplant, olives and capers. Spelt is an ancient grain which is high in fibre, protein and nutrients. Spelt is the healthier alternative to wheat and rice. Studies show it lowers the risk of heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, certain cancers and obesity.
